Jan was a licensed social worker receiving his Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan. He worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital, Macomb County Mental Health and then upon retiring worked part time for Seniors Counselling.
Jan was a very faithful member of St. Mark Orthodox Church in Rochester Hills for many years. He was also a volunteer with ODO - Orthodox Detroit Outreach where he loved helping others in need.
Some of Jan’s most favorite things to do were visiting friends and family in Saugatuck, Michigan, Pittsburgh and Lake LaTonka, Pennsylvania. Both Jan and Debbie loved travelling. He was also an avid Steelers fan.
A few years ago, Jan developed MSA (Multiple Systems Atrophy) a neurological degenerative disease. He fought hard against it each day and never gave up. His family was by his side each and every step of the way, caring and supporting him during this very difficult time.
The family would like to thank Father Andrew Yavornitzky (Retired) and wife Ruth, Father Paul Albert and Father John Baker for their visits and prayers over the time of Jan’s illness.
