Mark Hoagland passed away on October 16, 2021 at the age of 75. He was born on January 30, 1946 in Highland Park, MI to his parents Dorothy Honold Hoagland and Milton Bonney Hoagland. After high school, Mark spent 2½ years at Wayne State before he joined the army from 1967-1991. He honorably served his country in Vietnam and received his Vietnam Service Metal Along with National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Expert Rifle Award. After military service he graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a B.S. in Industrial Management and worked 20 years for Compuware Corporation. He married his beloved wife Diane Hoagland on May 26, 1984 at Pine Knob, MI. Mark and Diane shared 37 years of marriage and friendship, they loved to travel, notably to Hawaii and Ireland, and enjoyed their winter home in Bradenton, Florida.
He is survived by his wife Diane Hoagland. His children Jeffrey James Hoagland (Amy) and Amy Ann Valentine (Andrew). His stepchildren William James Hunter and Cathy Hunter Elias. His grandchildren Jonathan Elias, Skylar Hoagland, Eleanor Hoagland and Christopher Valentine. His siblings: sister Saville Gardner (husband Richard and children Mark, Eric and Evan) and twin brother Eric Hoagland (wife Sandy R.I.P. and children Clint and Jean).
A memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sylvan Lake Community Center, 2456 Pontiac Dr., Sylvan Lake, MI 48320. A Memorial gathering will be held following the service until 5:00 p.m.
