Our warmest appreciation for your love and support in celebrating the incredible legacy of our beloved mother and grandmother, Patricia (Patty). Patricia was always dedicated to her family and a hard worker. Her jobs included mother, lifelong beautician, handkerchief factory worker on Long Island, employee at the Danish Bakery in Orchard Lake (where she found her love for Royal Copenhagen Figurines and Christmas Plates), and General Motors employee where she put in 27 years of service at GM Truck & Bus as a forklift operator delivering parts to the assembly line.
Patricia was a devoted, loving wife to the late Thomas, who passed June 24, 2016 (we are convinced she is a saint)! She was THE BEST mom, grandma, great-grandma, and friend ANYONE could have. Patricia loved her family more than anything, and she especially loved being a mother. Patricia was blessed with two children, Deborah Weeks (Rick) and Jim Schlenkert (Debbie); four grandchildren, Jason Schlenkert (Mikki), Jimmy Schlenkert (Tim), Lillian Weeks, and Olive Asher; and three great-grandchildren, Isaac, Elias, and Maddox Asher. She will be dearly missed by all of them.
Patricia was the oldest of her three siblings. She was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Vore, and is survived by Barbara Hart and Jim A. Weeks (Coreen). Her sisters-in-law were also sisters to her, Gloria Clear (Chuck – previously departed) and Sandra Kinjorksi (Jim). She is survived by her brother-in-law, David Schlenkert, and John Schlenkert previously departed. Patricia had many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who she loved an adored, too many to list here, but just know you were very important to her.
Everyone loved Patty, and she loved everyone unconditionally! She was vibrant, stylish, witty, energetic, organized, loving, kind, and compassionate. She was active up to her last day. She was doing all the things she loved: spending time with family, antiquing, attending estate/garage sales, going to “Sally’s”, and house projects. Her most recent endeavor was re-landscaping. She was hauling (and washing) rocks around her yard to better empathize her trees and shrubs. She loved to decorate and was having a great time decorating her beach themed bathroom with shells, starfish, mermaid pictures, and ceramic fish. She was a homebody and truly loved spending time in her home and doing activities to improve it.
She will be missed by all of us; she was ours and we were hers! We loved her very much with our whole hearts. It was a blessing to have her in our lives. God Bless and Amen.
