Robert Dewey Hughes

HUGHES, Robert D., age 91, of West Bloomfield, passed away November 17, 2015 at his home. He was born September 15, 1924 to the late Dewey and Harriet (nee Davey) Hughes in Detroit. He married Rilla D. Hughes on May 22, 1964 at Orchard Lake Presbyterian Church. Bob retired after 26 years of service as a Detective with the Detroit Police Department and retired after 24 years of service as a Bus Driver with the West Bloomfield School District. He was a WWII veteran & served in the U.S. Army, a proud member of the National Rifle Association and the Waterford Sportsman’s Club. Bob had a great passion for hunting and fishing, but an even greater passion for spending time with his family. Father of Lynn (Jeff) Lauzon, Barbara (the late Gerald) Laskey, Duncan (Gail) Mitchell, Stan (Frieda) Mitchell, Doug (Nancy) Mitchell, and Jeff (Merrill) Mitchell and grandfather of Stevie, Jake, Robert, Chellay, Sam, Michael, Joe, Ryan, Matthew, Christina, Donnell, Megan, John, and Adre. Memorial Gathering 1 – 3 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Pixley Funeral Home, 2904 Orchard Lake Rd., Keego Harbor. Memorial Service 3 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the funeral home.
