Virginia Marie Sweet

Virginia "Ginger" Marie Sweet, age 76, of Waterford, was born February 12, 1949 in Pontiac and passed away March 22, 2025 in Waterford. Loving mother of Laura S. (Tim) Bearden. Cherished grandmother of Emma Faith (Joaquim Maldonado-Russell) Bearden, Sophia Hope (Jonathan) Sweet Nagle, and Ava Joy (Tristen Garling) Bearden. Treasured great-grandmother of Kaimana Nagle and Ezra Bearden Garling. Dear sister of John (Janet) Sweet, Dan (Joy) Sweet, Carolyn (Ron) Sweet-Ratcliffe. Virginia will be missed by her significant other, Michael Magner; and numerous other family members and friends. Virginia was preceded in passing by her mother, Dolores T. Sweet; and her brothers, Robert Batchelor and Scott L. Sweet.

Virginia retired after a successful career as a computer programmer for GM and EDS and as a clerk for Meijer Thrifty Acres. A devoted member of Waterford Community Church for 50 years, she served as a Sunday School teacher and Pioneer Girls leader. Virginia was a passionate Detroit Lions and Tigers fan and found joy in cooking, flower arranging, quilting, movies, and interior design. She had a gift for hosting lavish gatherings for family and friends. A kind and loyal friend, she loved gardening, traveling, sewing, and, most of all, being a mom and a grandma. She cherished every moment spent with her daughter, grandchildren, Michael, extended family, and dear friends.

Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 11:00am at Waterford Community Church, 3900 Airport Road, Waterford.
