

Anthony Curtis Watson, affectionately known to many as “Big Tony,” passed away peacefully at his family home on August 3, 2025, in the comfort of those he loved most. Born on October 8, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, Anthony lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Anthony honorably served his country for 20 years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant before his retirement. His military career reflected his discipline, strength, and unwavering commitment to his fellow soldiers and his nation.
Beyond his service, Anthony’s passions brought joy to all who knew him. Whether he was lifting spirits with his powerful singing voice, preparing a delicious meal from the heart, or sharing his love of boxing, “Big Tony” had a way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and cared for.
Anthony’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Watson; his children, Toni Watson, Alfonso Watson, and Devante Watson; and his cherished grandchildren, Quentin Sterling, Brandon Charles, and Elaya Charles. He will also be remembered fondly by extended family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Anthony “Big Tony” Watson leaves behind a legacy of strength, laughter, and unconditional love. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Visitation for Anthony will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:30 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 South Fort Hood Road, Killeen, TX 76542-1654. Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542 at 2:00 PM.
