

Retired Sergeant Major Arnold H. Dobson, 73, passed away July 7 at Olin E. Teague Veteran’s Hospital. Visitation for Mr. Dobson will be held July 11, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited July 11 at 7:00 pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. The family will receive visitors immediately following the Rosary. Services will be July 12 at 10:00 am at St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church with burial to follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with full military honors.
Arnold was born October 17, 1937 in Brinkley, Arkansas to Edward and Mildred (Brees) Dobson.
He was a member of the Fort Hood Catholic Community. He served for 26 years in the U.S. Army with overseas service in France, Belgium, Germany, Japan, and Vietnam. His military awards include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, and numerous Army Campaign Medals.
His final active duty assignment was as AG Sergeant major, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood.
Thereafter, he worked for 19 years as a civilian in the Material Management Branch DCA, at Fort Hood.
Survivors include his wife, Wolsun Dobson of Killeen, son Michael W. Dobson, daughter Marianne L. Venuto, both of Bell County, and two Grandchildren, Joseph Venuto and Janelle Venuto of Austin.
He was preceded in death by his previous wife Micheline Louise Dobson and his parents Edward Dobson ad Mildred (Brees) Dobson.
