Audrey "Jean" Bay

Audrey "Jean" Bay, 93, of Harker Heights, TX passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024.  A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 30, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at the First United Methodist Church in Killeen.

Jean was born in Aquilla, TX and was reared and educated in Abernathy.  On February 16, 1951, she married the love of her life, Marvin Clyde Bay. They moved to Killeen, Texas where they joined the family businesses.  They then moved to Plainview and farmed for several years before settling back in Killeen to manage the Furniture Mart downtown.

Jean was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church. She was active in numerous community organizations including the Viva Les Arts and the Killeen Food Pantry. Jean enjoyed all outdoor activities, including gardening and fishing. She also enjoyed Bridge with her friends. She loved traveling with longtime friends and family.

Jean will be deeply missed by all who knew her but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends and community. Her legacy of love, faith, generosity and joy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.

Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marvin; parents Norris Mathis and Julia Francis Rogers; sister Joyce Olveda White; brother Albert Wayne Rogers; and grandson Joshua Rosson. 

Jean is survived by daughters Patricia Bay Wood, Beverly Diane Lubin (Harry), and Melissa Rosson; grandchildren Ashley Wren and Ryan Lubin (Samantha); great grandchildren Jackson Rosson, Harrison Wren and Olivia Wren; and brother James Mack Rogers (Cheryl).

In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be given to the First United Methodist Church in Killeen.
