Doug, you, your family and Barbara have been on my mind constantly. Many prayers have been said and will continue to be said for all of you. Barbara was a very special friend to me. She was a special person, so full of life and such a wonderful person to all. I know this is a very difficult thing to have to endure. Our promise from God is that you will see her again. She is with our Lord and just knowing that you will be able to see her again can be very comforting. Keep that promise in your heart. It will comfort you. Words cannot express the unbelievable sadness we feel with Barbara's passing.  She was such a sweet, fun and caring person that we were lucky to know her. Barbara - you meant so much to our family throughout the years.   As Tara said, you were a constant in our military family!!  We  always considered you a member of our family. Oh my  gosh, Matt Rester just called to inform me of Barbara's passing.   I am  a sales rep and I was so delighted to have known Barbara in my dealings with her over the years at Hallmark.   I had no idea that she had even had surgery and complications as a result.  She was such a delightful and wonderful lady and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.   Mt prayers and my heartfelt  thoughts go out to her family for their loss.

Our deepest sympathy to you Doug and your family. The news of Barb's passing was such a shock to Don and I. Words cannot express our sentiments. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Barbara died. Barbara from hallmark, in my mind that will always be what I think of, but she was so much more.  She represented above all the truths in my life that I hold self evident. She is a constant in my life, a steadfast patron of my past, she is an aspect of home. In the life of a military brat... There's not many of those. For me Killeen, is a haircut from Donna, a visit with my Uncle Keith, and a hug from Barbara. Since I was a very little girl this has been my life. I've often said the best part of my year is the arrival of the dream book that would be a half truth. The reason the dream book is so special is that it means that the ornament reveal is on the horizon- the excitement of seeing the ornaments for the first time, the first taste of Christmas- to be frank I truly go for Barbara's pig in blankets.  Some of my earliest memories are of rushing mom to the store, shoving through the masses of old women, to get there before my older brother Thomas- swiftly followed by the mission to covertly swipe some at every opportunity. Barbara of course knew- before long she was making them just for us- a fact divulged to me many years later. Once they were gone her delicious cookies were worthy substitutes. I have tons of memories spread throughout my  17 years of waiting outside the store room for her to emerge, always smiling,  when she was our primary webkinz supplier, the generous discounts, and the times when she would always show me things she knew I would love. One particular time speaks to me- I think I was 14 at the time- we were talking about something when she turned to me and said "I'd hire you, the minute you turn 16, you'll always have a job here" 

Well, she'll always have a place in my heart. 

Unfortunately the ramblings of someone barely older than a girl can barely hope to pay just homage to this beautiful, encouraging woman- Alas, I have done my best. Thank you Barbara. I will miss you always. God Bless your family.
