Chae Sil Swann, age 85 loving Mother of three, Grandmother of 8, Great Grandmother of 12, and adoring Wife to Husband Billy Swann, peacefully passed away on 7th of January 2022 at BSW- Temple, TX with her family by her side. Chae was born in Chunpuk, Korea during the Korean War, experiencing extremely hard times, in which food, shelter and all other resources was scarce, which explained her passionate desire to ensure other always had food and care throughout her life. Her parents passed when she was still a child and she was left with the responsibility to care for her younger two siblings, until each of them were separated to live with other relatives and later put into orphanage. Her biggest gratitude and thrill was being able to bring her family back together and see them thrive in America. Even though she endured these hardships, her beautiful alluring smile made everyday joyful and adventurous. No matter how dark the horizon, mom always had a way to lighten it up. She was our Queen.
She met Billy Swann in Korea when she was 21 years old and on the 20th of July1960 and they were married and shared a adoring life of 64 years together.
Because of her caring nature, Chae spent over 30 years in the hospitality profession helping and serving others. This continued after her retirement through her work with the church with her selfless service to God. She always put others needs before her own by ensuring everyone who came to the house left with a full belly and/or food in their hands on the way out. Mom would always wait until everyone had something to eat before she would sit down to eat herself.
Mom loved working in her garden, she had the gift of the green thumb, and she could grow anything! We used to bring our almost lifeless plants to Mom and before you knew it they were sprouting blooms or turning green again. She had that special touch with plants and Family. Whatever she grew, it was shared with the neighbors, church folks and all who came to the house.
Chae is survived by her brother, Chae Kun Yuk, sister, Pu Yong Kim, son, Bobby Swann, daughters Sherry Dickens, and Linda Williams and her husband Stanley Williams.
Mom had an older brother, Chae Sin Yuk, whom passed some 35 years ago. She would talk about him often, visit him on Christmas at his final resting place, and looked forward to seeing him again when she moved on.
The family wishes to thank Ms. Kum Sun Weinhart for the loving care and companionship she gave to Ms. Swann this past year. She got her pep back into her step thanks to Kum Sun.
A visitation for Chae will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Woori United Methodist Church, 4710 E. Rancier Ave., Killeen, Texas 76543, with Funeral Services at 1:00 PM. A private burial will be at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

“Remember Me”
Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow,
But remember me in every tomorrow.
Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles,
I’ve only gone to rest a little while.
Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt,
And given me relief.
So dry your eyes and remember me,
Not as I am now, but as I used to be.
Because, I will remember you all,
And look on with a smile.
Understand in your hearts,
I’ve only gone to rest a little while.
As long as I have the love of each of you,
I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.crawfordbowersfuneralhome.com for the Swann family.
