Charles R. Wendle

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Charles Reed Wendle, 56 years young, who died January 22, 2021 at his Harker Heights home.

He is the beloved father of Joshua Wendle of Harker Heights, and Cora Wendle of Houston. Cherished step-father of Julio and Luis Cardozo, both of Harker Heights, Alyssa Kerekes of Pensacola, FL. and Parris Tolliver of Killeen, TX. Adored grandpa of Isaac Munoz of Houston, TX and Julio Cardozo Jr. of San Marcos, TX. Caring ex-husband of 13 yrs. to Mary Wendle of Austin, TX. Loving son of Meng Chu Collins & husband Donald of Sharptown, MD. Predeceased by his father Gary Wendle & wife Suki of San Diego, CA. Dear brother of Lisa Maxfield & husband Ryan of Fate, TX., Christopher Wendle & wife Beth of Oakland, CA., Benevolent boyfriend of Nuchanart Uttho of Harker Heights, TX. Always and forever remembered by the Wendle and Chen family as well as by many other loved ones whom lives he touched.

Charles was a US Army veteran retired of 21yrs. in Killeen, TX. An entrepreneur at heart, Charles had dreams of being his own boss. With his strong determination, witty personality and tireless hard labor, Charles worked to see his dreams come true. Over the next 15 years, he turned Oak Tree Fence company into a well known and successful contract company, that served and was trusted by many in the surrounding area.

Charles was a dedicated father and grandfather first and foremost. He treasured his children and grandchildren, and embraced every moment with them. He had a vivacious personality and always had a way of making people laugh. He never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He will be missed dearly.
