Colin was the third child born to John and Donna Meyer on April 20, 1997 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The son of a Military Officer, Colin grew up as an “Army Brat” travelling throughout the US, and Germany with his family. While living in Europe, Colin embraced adventures including climbing the Eiffel Tower in Paris, exploring the catacombs in Rome, venturing into Zeus cave in Crete, skiing in the Alps, sliding down into the salt mines of Austria, and visiting his great-grandfather and aunt in England.
Having both parents as nurses, Colin’s curiosity about healthcare was inevitable. He is fondly remembered for asking questions like “Hey Dad, did you see any dislocated shoulders today?” During his sophomore and junior years of high school, he served as a Red Cross volunteer at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in the Orthopedics and Emergency Departments. Colin also became an EMT cadet in 2014, conducting ride along operations with the Killeen Fire Department, fuelling his passion for service to others.
He loved fishing, mountain biking, playing disc golf and playing the ukulele. A biology major at the University of North Texas, he enjoyed reading books like “Unstoppable” by Billy Nye and “The Selfish Gene” by Richard Dawkins. He loved mastering magic tricks and studying magicians, especially Penn Jillette of the comedy duo “Penn and Teller” , whom he had the honor of meeting.
Family and friends remember Colin for his selfless and grateful attitude, enjoying every moment, and never taking life for granted. He lived his life to the fullest and will forever be remembered for his fearlessness in trying new things, including sailing, skateboarding, hiking, rock climbing, and jumping off rocks into the ocean of Waimea Bay.
Colin was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Pamela Suzanne Jeeves Meyer and maternal grandfather Reuben Huntington Gibson.
Colin is survived by his Father John Frederick Meyer IV, Mother Donna Lynn Gibson Meyer, Brother Stefan John Meyer and fiance Reyna Michelle Thompson, Sister Hannah Marie Meyer, Maternal Grandmother Mary Anna Gibson, Paternal Grandfather John Frederick Meyer, Girlfriend Anais Abundiz, Best Friends Garrett Wise and Mose Sonera-Roman, and many
