Dalita Savage, 42, of Killeen, Texas, passed on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Born in Plainview to Randy Campbell and Wilma Brown Smith, Dalita lived a life that was anything but ordinary. She was a radiant force—anchored in faith, fearless in love, and unapologetically bold in her walk with Christ. Her life wasn’t just a testimony of belief—it was a masterclass in action. She didn’t just speak truth. She embodied it. She breathed it. And she challenged everyone around her to rise with her.Dalita graduated from Ellison High School in 2001 and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Her career began in Houston as a legal assistant with Kirkland & Ellis, where her excellence led to a transfer to Washington, DC as a corporate trainer. Most recently, she served as a Training Specialist with City Electric Supply in Dallas, Texas. But Dalita’s impact extended far beyond the corporate world. In 2017, she founded She Takes Initiative—a bold, empowering network designed to equip women to step into their divine assignments as Kingdom Coaches, Mentors, and Marketplace Leaders. She didn’t wait for permission to shine. She simply did. And when others hesitated, she’d say with conviction: “Let them.”Let them doubt. Let them watch. Let them wonder. Because she knew exactly who she was—and more importantly, Whose she was.
Dalita was magnetic, outgoing, and full of fire. Her “no-nonsense” attitude wasn’t about being tough—it was about being real. She saw greatness in people before they saw it in themselves, and she pushed them—gently, fiercely, faithfully—toward it. Her legacy lives not only in the memories we hold, but in the lives she touched, the faith she ignited, and the greatness she demanded from everyone around her.She enjoyed traveling with friends, spending time with family, and cozy nights with Netflix. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Willie Lee Brown, Sr., Grandmother Jolene Brown Davis, four uncles—Howard Carter, John Brown, Willie L. Brown Jr., Carl Brown—and her nephew, Resean Cheadle.Dalita leaves behind a loving family: mother, Wilma (Bennie) Smith: two brothers, Dwayne (Erika) Brown of Cameron, North Carolina and Roy Brown of Killeen, Texas; one sister, Renitta (Mark) Cheadle of Kansas City, Missouri; along with nephews, a niece, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who were blessed by her light.Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 1, 2025, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 S. Fort Hood St, Killeen, TX 76542. Reverend Charles Waggoner of Spirit of Truth Ministries (Fort Worth, Texas) will officiate.
