

Doris was born in Erlangen, Germany on September 16, 1950. She first relocated with her family from Germany to Killeen, Texas at age four. After moving back to Germany, she once again relocated permanently back to Killeen, Texas at age ten. She was a graduate of Killeen High School. After being in the workforce at Sears, local banks, Civil Service for several years, including owning her own business, she retired to live out her dream of being a wife and mother.
Doris married the love of her life, Darrell, on April 4, 1970 and expanded their love into a family in 1990 as they welcomed their son, John Michael. She then dedicated her entire life as a loving wife, mother and caretaker of her parents. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Killeen, Texas and served on various committees. She was involved in Home School, community activities at the Senior Center, an active Pickleball player and walker. She also Spent a lot of time with friends hunting down Pokemon with Pokemon Go.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie A. and Katherine Barton as well as
.0s0everal aunts, uncles, cousins and a brother-in-law. She will be dearly missed by her surviving family; loving husband of 51 years: Darrell, son: John Michael; sister: Hattie Kitchens and husband Henry, nieces: Rebecca Vance and husband James, Kathleen Poland and husband Robert, Christina Springer and husband Kenneth, great nieces: Nikki Christian, Brittany Christian, Kaitlyn Webb, Kylie Webb, Melissa Springer, Kandace Springer, great nephew: Robert Vance; brother: Bennie L. Barton and wife Jeannie, nieces: Vickie Stika and Husband Austin, Candy Amora, nephew: Benny L. Barton Jr., Ricky Barton and wife Melissa, Sister-in-law: Terry Coats-Smith, niece: Karey Clark and husband Cole, nephew Steven Coats and wife Katja great nieces: Mosi Clark, Amber Clark, Ella Coats.
Services will be held 20 October 2021, 1:00 P.M.
Immanuel Lutheran Church located at 3801 Cunningham Rd. Killeen, Texas; followed by services at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery located on Old FM 440 Rd, Killeen, Texas.

Doris has received her angel wings and is now reunited with her Daddy, Mama and other family members. She will forever be in our hearts.
