

Elton “Mann” Watson, Jr was a caring husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He transitioned to his heavenly home on February 2, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. His legacy will continue to be honored by family, living their lives to the fullest and filling each day with smiles and songs.
Mann was born to Elton Watson, Sr & Carol Lessane Gilmore in Lumberton, North Carolina on September 24th, 1974.
Mann’s journey began in Lumberton NC, followed by a move to Germany and eventually settling into Killeen TX. He attended Fairway Middle School and graduated from Killeen High School, Killeen TX in 1991. One of the proudest moments was being a member of the Killeen Kangaroo’s football team # 15. His senior year they won the state championship and guess what? It hasn’t happened again!! Mann moved to NC briefly and quickly decided that Texas was where his heart was. Here is where he met the love of his life, Drusilla R. Watson in 1999. The simplest pleasures in life bought Mann great joy. He found his long-term employment in the furniture and factory industry. He loved family and always made a point to express his love to the ones closest to him. Always expressing a smile and continuedly had a song in his heart. He was a proud father, loving husband and an adored son. Mann had an uncanny ability to find happiness in any circumstance and spread joy to all of those around him. His pleasant personality was contagious and unwavering.
Elton is survived by his parents, Elton Watson, Sr (Sheila) of Virginia & Carol Gilmore(Willie) Concord, NC; wife Drusilla R. Watson, of the home; Seven children: Elton James “EJ” Watson(Kelsey) Lawton, OK, Demetrius McRae, Fayetteville, NC; Dionte Whitehead, Vernon, TX; Dashaun McRae(Zoe), Fayetteville, NC; Zaina Hall(Austin), Vernon, TX; Cervantes J. Ramirez, Killeen, TX; Demoray Watson, Vernon, TX.
Three sisters, Vertie Rogers, Kannapolis, NC; Grace Gilmore, Concord, NC; Irish Gilchrist, Lumberton, NC. Eleven grandchildren, and a host of family and friends who he dearly loved. He is preceded in death by his four grandparents , Trussie Lessane, Vertie Crawford, Vina Mae Stackhouse and Samuel Watson.
