Her vibrant personality, infectious laughter, sharp wit, adoration for all children will be missed by her family and friends.
Eva was born August 1, 1935, in Culebra, P.R. to Jesus and Fransisca (Monet) Sanes. She grew up in the St. Thomas, Virgin Islands where she married her best friend Juan Jose Hernandez.
Eva was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend who raised six biological children; however…she was a mom to many. Her children often share stories and have said “most people would bring home stray cats and dogs; our mom brought home homeless children and gave them a safe and nurturing place to call home until they could be reunited with their own loved ones”.
There are people from as far as Africa who will miss “Mum” and her contagious laughter. If you asked her friends and family what they would miss most about Eva they would most likely say “I will miss her singing the most, Eva sang all the time”.
Because of her love for humanity she wore her heart on her sleeve and shared it with everyone.
She and her husband (Juan) most recently attended For Whosoever Will Church in Killeen where Eva was a Greeter and was actively involved with fundraising to build the new church.
The family will greet friends at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home at 1615 Fort Hood Street, Killeen, from 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 10.

There are many wonderful sounds in this world...
My two favorites are:
The sound of children laughing,
and
hearing my children call me mom....
