Flo was born in Clareville, Texas to Ernal & Gertrude Terry on March 25, 1915. She married her High School sweetheart, Mike (Bud) McGinnis on June 7, 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Clifton and Ernal Terry; sisters Ivah Powell and Joy Forbes; a son Allen Claude (Buddy), a grandson Pete McGinnis, and a Great Grandson Marc McGinnis. She is survived by her son, Jim and wife, Rebecca of Killeen and her son Michael David of Clute, Texas; sisters Helen Bond and husband Clayton of Lake Buhannan, Texas and Lois Hays of Lake Buchannan. Flo also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 9 great great- grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces and nephews. “Mimi” means grandmother, and Flo was known by many as “Mimi”. She was proud to be called Mimi by many friends and relatives. “Mom” was a word that she was proud of also. Her favorite Bible Scripture is Matthew 16:26, and two favorite songs are “One Day at a Time” and “He Touched Me.”
She leaves daughters-in-law, Beverly Barnhart, Peggy Sue Norris Till and Lee McGinnis.
Visitation will be Monday, May 13, 2019 from 6-8pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen, Texas. Memorial Service will be Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Skyline Baptist Church, Killeen with Rev. Ashley Payne officiating.
There will be a service for Florence McGinnis on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11am at Restwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Lake Jackson, Texas with Pastor Chad Alexander officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Restwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
