Mrs. Reavis passed peacefully at her home, surrounded by family and close friends at the age of 76, after a two year battle with Cancer on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Helen Ray of Kempner and the absolute love of her life, J.H. Reavis, better known as Jr, of Oakalla.
She is survived by a son, Robert Reavis, a daughter Christie Elmore, (husband Brook) of Belton, two loving grandsons, Cody Elmore (wife Avery) of Kempner and Tanner Elmore of Lubbock and must we not forget her beloved Yorkie, Izzy Mae, whom she absolutely adored.
She graduated from Lampasas High School then went on to attend and graduate from Cameron Commercial College in 1967.
She married Jr after he returned from Vietnam on October 14, 1967.
She worked at First National Bank until she delivered her first child in March of 1971,
then decided she was going to be a stay at home mom. During this time is when she developed her skills of soap opera binge watching and cooking. She would make three chocolate pies at once, eat one before Jr got home from work and let him think she had over achieved by making two. It was another three years and many pies later that she decided she needed to go back to work. She began her federal career in February of 1974 where she would spend the next 32 years and 9 months of dedicated service.
She absolutely loved bobtail cats and short tailed dogs, sweet ice tea and Corona Extra, as she so proudly told every doctor and nurse that she met at Scott and White against her daughters constant urging to just leave that part out.
Her hobbies included mowing, fishing and being a Nana.
She fought hard, loved harder and family was the most important thing in her life.
