Gregory Lynwood Mays was born to the union of Richard and Margaret Mays on July 12, 1954 in Pittsburgh, PA. , and relocated at the age of 9 to be raised in San Diego, CA. He completed High School and received an academic scholarship to Princeton, where he completed two years. Gregory then went into the Army where he met and married Peggy Mays in 1977. He remained in that union until her untimely departure in 2004. He remained in the military as a software engineer for twelve years and then continued to do the same work as a civilian until he retired in 2019.
Our dear loved one departed from this earth and ascended into Heaven on August 22, 2023 to be greeted by all the loved who preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: sisters, Mrs. Djuna Thomas and husband Asma of Killeen, TX and MS Pamela Mays of San Diego CA., brother, Reginald Mays of Springdale, AR, very special friend, Perlita Laurel and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
