Hollis (Gene) Standridge

Services for Hollis (Gene) Standridge, 59 of Killeen will be 3:00pm Saturday April 18, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Florence. He was born November 11, 1955 in Georgetown Texas and passed away April 14, 2015 at his home with his wife and sons by his side after a battle with PSP. Gene married Mary DeGrand (Roberts) on June 30, 1998 at their home in Killeen. He worked for AAMCO for eighteen years and moved to Dodge Country and Freedom Jeep Chrysler where he retired after twenty-three years. Gene was a member of First Baptist Church in Florence where he sang in the choir.

Survivors include his wife; Mary, three sons; Zachary Standridge, Justin Standridge and wife Christina and William Standridge and his wife Fathom; six grandchildren Mikayla, MacKenzie, and Dallas of Dallas, TX, Jordan Standridge, of Houston and Mariah and Jacqueline of Killeen; two sisters Margaret Holbrook and Shirley Atkinson of Florence, TX; two brothers Ray and Kenneth Standridge also of Florence, TX, and mother Doris Standridge of Georgetown, TX. He was preceded in death by his father; William Standridge; and wife Leona Sosa. The family will receive visitors from 5-7pm Friday April 17, 2015 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Lunch will be served at 1:00pm prior to the service at the church hall. No other services are planned at this time.
