A visitation will be held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen on Friday August 16 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 17 at 10:00 am at the Killeen Cemetery.
Jean was born on March 1, 1928, in Liberty Hill, Texas to Clyde and Ester Hamilton. In 1933, at the age of five, Jean and her family moved from Liberty Hill, Texas to Brookhaven, Texas via horse and carriage where they lived on a farm for many years. In the early 1940’s Camp Hood acquired the Brookhaven community, and the family was forced to move to Killeen, Texas. Jean worked as a telephone operator and a waitress at a coffee shop until she met the love of her life Paul Holcomb Sr. They married March 1, 1948, and together they had three children: Janis Holcomb, Paul Holcomb Jr., and Glen Holcomb.
While her children were growing up, she spent her time as a homemaker making sure her family was taken care of. After her children were raised, she took joy in watching her grandchildren and she was able to watch and keep every one of them for a period of time. She loved her family with all her heart and soul.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Holcomb Sr. and her son Paul Holcomb Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Janis Holcomb, son, Glen Holcomb and wife Becky; her grandchildren, Brian Beers, Amanda Beers, Jeffrey Holcomb, Rodney Holcomb and wife Courtney, Kara Boehme and husband Levi, Kelly Dahlke and husband Derek, Shelly Holcomb and Josh; her great-grandchildren, Brooke Beers, Cameron De Los Santos, Benjamin, Evelyn, Iris, Sawyer and Lucille Holcomb, Preslee Boehme, Dakota, Daisey, Derek Jr. Dahlke and Landrie Holcomb.
A special thank you to Baylor Scott & White Hospice for her wonderful care and to all the amazing family and friends who have expressed their love and support during this time.
