Dean was born in Erwin, North Carolina on May 18, 1958, to the late William and Marilyn Lilly. She was the fifth of nine children consisting of six girls and three boys. After her graduation from High School, she worked for Texas Instruments making chips and conductors for calculators and radios, but later, focused on being a full-time Mom and Wife.
Dean married Michael Moore on December 30, 1989. They shared 35 happy years together. Although Michael had a full career in the Military, he and Dean lived mostly in Fayetteville, North Carolina and Killeen, Texas. They moved to Texas in 1993 and consider it their home.
Dean enjoyed being a stay-at-home Mom – taking care of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading the Bible, fishing, cooking, traveling, gardening, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Before her death, she was studying the Bible to become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her favorite scriptures were John 3:16 because it made her realize that we must follow Jesus’s footsteps, and Revelation 21:3,4 because these verses deepened her hope for a bright and beautiful future. Dean was kind, generous and hospitable, everyone who knew her, loved her.
Dean is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Michael Moore; her
six children - Setoria Lilly, Cassandra Lilly, James Johnson, and his wife Dalpne, Brittany Moore, Michael Moore Jr. and her late daughter - Michelle D. Moore. She is survived by thirteen grandchildren - Courtney
Ferdinand, ZyKeshala Murphy, Shyheim Williams, Abrion Williams, Christian Lilly, Nyla Johnson, Janiece Johnson, Emma Johnson, Michael Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Lauren Johnson, Brittany Johnson, Lyanna Moore, and Aiden Moore. She had four great-grandchildren.
Dean will forever be remembered by her devoted brother - Antonio Lilly from Durham, NC and her loving sisters - Dorothy Yarde Saint and husband, Neil from Grovetown, GA; Marilyn Ray from Dumfries, VA; and Debra Chambers and husband Ronald from Roseboro, NC.
She is preceded in death by two brothers Tony Lilly and Steve Lilly and two sisters - Sharon Fountain and Virginia Ray. She also leaves to cherish her memory one uncle - James Greene, and a large host of nephews, nieces, and cousins, as well as countless friends.
