James was born on October 21, 1968 in Jacksonville, Florida. He grew up in Calhoun, Georgia where he was an Eagle Scout. After graduating from Calhoun high school in 1986 with high honors; Jim joined the United States Army.
Jim’s services included a deployment to Bosnia and war deployments to Operation Desert Storm, Haiti, Somalia, and Iraq. It was also while serving in the Military that Jim met and married his wife Vonya.
After 20 years of service, Jim retired in 2007 with the rank of SFC. Retirement allowed Jim to be more involved in community service events, baseball coaching for Parks and Recreations in Copperas Cove and volunteering with his children's activities in school.
Jim also enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing darts and dominoes with friends. His favorite pass time was spent with family and friends cheering on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jim was a regular attendee of Grace Christian Center.
Jim’s memories will be forever cherished by his wife of 16 1/2 years, Vonya Hart and their sons, Dante, Corey and Tyson.
He will also be missed by his siblings; Rhonda Sanders, Ray Boswell, Martha Jane Whitney and several nieces and nephews.
The Hart family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 12 PM until 1:30 PM on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Grace Christian Center. Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM on Monday, May 12, 2014 also at Grace Christian Center. Burial will follow in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with full Military honors.
