

James Ira Redman, age 74, of Killeen, TX passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013. James was born on December 7, 1938 in the small town of Concord, NC one of eight children to the late Burle Redman and Elsie (Hooks) Redman.
After graduating from high school, James enlisted in the US Army. In 1959 he married his best friend, Alice Carden. The young couple enjoyed traveling all over the world; but Texas was the place they loved the most. James and Alice soon welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Marie into their lives.
James was known as Blue Bell ice cream’s favorite customer because of the amounts of ice cream he loved eating while cheering his Dallas Cowboys on.
James was a man that knew and loved the Lord and he was a faithful member of the Choir at First Baptist Church Trimmier. He also enjoyed pass times like hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends, to include his young buddy Junior and telling him to “go home Junior”.
He was preceded in death by sister, Burlleen Sides and a brother, Bobby Redman.
James will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Alice Redman, their only child, Marie Redman, one granddaughter, Jamie Rivera and one great-granddaughter, Emily Cooper.
He will also be missed by his three sisters; Shirley Dagenhart, Dean Stickle and Annette Cook, Two brothers; Hal Redman and Joe Redman.
The Redman family will receive guests for a time of visitation Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral of Killeen. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 22, 2013 at First Baptist Church Trimmier located at 6405 Chaparral Rd. in Killeen. Burial will follow in the central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
