James Edgar Taylor Sr.

James was born March 23, 1931 to Edgar M. Taylor and Mattie M. Sims in Whitewright, Texas.

Mr. Taylor was married to Betty Nell McKinney on October 3, 1951.

They were married for 66 years.

He retired from the U.S. Army. He was a fifty plus years in scouting where he received numerous awards, District Chairman, District Commissioner, Wood badge, Silver Beaver, District Awards of Merit, Virgil member of the order of the arrow and founder’s award. His hobbies were collecting and trading Scout Patches and a coin collector

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Taylor and his brother M. E. (Jimmy) Taylor.

Survived by his daughter Janice Carr (Neil) of Temple, Texas, Son James E. Taylor Jr. of Waco, Texas, Sister Gladys M. Jones of Sherman, Texas Brother Billy Don Taylor of Arlington, Texas.

Two grandsons, five great grandsons, two great granddaughters, two great great granddaughters, two great great grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews

Graveside Service will be Tuesday April 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Killeen City Cemetery.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday April 14, 2020 at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home.
