

John (Johnny) Boyd Cloud, Jr. was born in Lamesa, Texas to John B. Cloud Sr . and Adelya Rae Robertson Cloud on December 15, 1933. He passed away September 3, 2015 in Temple, Texas. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00pm, Monday, September 7, 2015 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Southside Church of Christ, Killeen, Texas.
John was married to Jeanita (Bunny) Fogle on August 13, 1955. He was stationed at Fort Hood in 1955. While stationed at Ft. Hood Johnny earned the title of “All Army Boxing Champion” and “All service runner up”. After his discharge he and Bunny started their life together at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX and University of Corpus Christi, now A&M. Johnny attended both colleges on track and boxing scholarships. In 2014 he was inducted into the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Campus Hall of Honor. While a student there he served as a coach for the boxing team and led his team to many championships. He loved scouting and was an Eagle Scout, but his favorite hobby (turned into a business) was horses and along with his business “Johnny Cloud Motors”. He led an active life in both. Johnny owned and operated his own business for 35 years. He was a member of the Southside Church of Christ and served as a Deacon there in earlier years. He was a people person and could talk cars, horses and grandkids all day long. He loved his family and was devoted to them.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Adelya (Baby Dee) Walker and brother, Joe Weldon Cloud.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, 3 sons, Jeffery, Stacy and wife Kara and Stephen Cloud all of Harker Heights, his sister Jean Latham and husband Bobby, 6 grandchildren, Dustin Cloud and wife April, Amanda Hammerschidt of Austin, TX, Ashley Ambler and husband Danny of Copperas Cove, TX, Shelbi Cloud of Harker Heights, TX, Stephanie Izaguirre and husband Jordan of Killeen, TX, and Jacob Cloud of Virginia Beach, VA, 9 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kamryn, Landon, Bentley, Merrick, Miles, Brooklyn, Riley, Paige, and grandchildren we claim and love, Chris Cragg, Dustin Hallmark, Michael, Brandon, Conner and Paisley Krzywonski and numerous nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Texas Veterans Association.
