Joseph Vincent Schembre

Joseph Vincent Schembre, age 84, of Killeen, Texas passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022. He was born February 3, 1938. Joseph started his military career in the United States Marine Corps, then transferred to the United States Navy, where he later retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer; after serving 21 years in the US Navy Seabees at 3rd Naval Construction Brigade Danang, Vietnam. During his tenure, he also provided support to the Northern part of Vietnam. He served his country with honor and distinction while always remaining a Navy man at heart.

During his life he was an avid member of multiple organizations to include, 32nd Degree Sottish Rite Masons, Knights Templar Masonry, a life time member of the VFW, American Legion, DAV and Fleet Reserve. Joseph loved his God, his Country, the armed forces and was very devoted to his family and furbabies.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife Malvina Ann Schembre of 60 years, as well as one daughter and one grandson.

A service, with full military honors, will take place at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery on Monday September 26, 2022 at 2pm. There will be a viewing held Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 3-5 pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.
