Kristina N Gochenour

May 21, 1977 – May17, 2026

Our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ and a host of angels welcomed Kristina into the heavenly realm on Sunday, May 17, 2026. A remembrance and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 23 at 707 Hub, Killeen, TX from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Kristi was born in Waco, TX but lived most of her life in Killeen. Challenged from birth, she attended special needs classes in Killeen ISD and was active in many Special Olympic area events including bowling, swimming, track & field. She was limited physically but overflowed with unconditional love and hugs for everyone around her. Rest peacefully beautiful soul . . . moreover run, dance, talk and sing along with all the other “firsts” that are new to you in heaven and soar with all the saints in the presence of the Most High!

Kristi was preceded in death by her father, John F. Gochenour (2020) and uncles Gary N. Maas (2017) and Ross W. Maas (2024) and many other aunts/uncles and cousins from her father’s family.

Survivors include her mother Brenda Maas Gochenour, aunt Karen Maas Jones (Mike), cousins Jason A Freeman (Brandy) and Terry Joe Maas (Jessika) as well as other extended family from both sides too numerous to name yet touched by Kristi’s joy.

The family extends its heartfelt affection and gratitude to Rosie Chapman, Patty Powers and all the staff with Here At Home Residential Care in Belton, TX for their loving care of Kristi since May 2023. They truly made Kristi part of their family and enriched her life immensely. Likewise, gratitude to Neyrice Brackens of Central County Services for her support and guidance through the maze of social services.

Kristi will be interred at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen next to her devoted father. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kristi can be made to Killeen-Cove-Hood Area 12 Special Olympics Texas (4732 Whirlwind Dr. San Antonio, TX 78217).
