Kristopher Karl Hurst of Killeen, Texas passed away on September 20, 2025 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 5, 1973 to Gary Claude Hurst and Lillian Myrna Hurst. He grew up in Killeen where he met and married Jennifer Rae Williams on February 15, 1997. Some would say that it was love at first sight. Kris and Jen were together for over 31 years and have two sons, Kaden Cole and Aiden Kyle. He never missed a moment to brag and talk about his boys. His greatest joy was being a dad. Kris was a remarkable husband, father, son, brother and friend to all that knew him.
Kris is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer, sons Kaden and Aiden; his mother Myrna Hurst of Killeen, Texas; sister Jennifer Jean Seidl (Randy) of Harker Heights, Texas; niece Kylyn Leigh Hurst of Harker Heights, Texas; half-sister Angie Ackert-Reaney (Frank) of Nashua, New Hampshire; niece Shelby Ackert-Reaney of Nashua, New Hampshire; mother-in-law Janet Williams of Killeen, Texas; sister-in-law Melissa Benoist of Killeen, Texas; niece Amanda Ragsdale (Jacob) of Marysville, California; Andrew Benoist (Brittany) of Cedar Park, Texas and many more family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Gary Hurst and father-in-law Odell Williams, his grandparents, uncles and cousins.
Kris spent his life devoted to helping others. He worked for many years in sales and management, then decided to pursue his goal of becoming a firefighter. Kris wanted to be a role model for his children and did so serving the community. One of his greatest enjoyments in life was watching both of his boys play baseball. As a dad and coach, he tried to be there for every ball game and practice. He inspired players on and off the field, cheered for everyone and took time to talk to parents in the stands at every game. He was creative and inventive with most anything. Always designing something on the laser that was genuine and unique for each occasion. Kris was always the life of the party, enjoyed making everyone laugh, and was most happy at home gathered around by his family and friends having BBQ, coffee or just relaxing by the pond.
He was deeply loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
