Services for Lesley Wayne Bailey 76, of Killeen, will be 11:00am Friday April 12, 2019 at First Baptist Church Trimmier. Lesley Wayne Bailey, Sergeant Major US Army Retired preferred to be called Brother Les. He was born April 19, 1942 in Derby, Connecticut. He was raised in upstate New York but got to Texas as fast as he could. He was the twelfth child of Calvin Everett Bailey, Sr. and Edna Shirley Hubble Bailey. He is survived by wife. Lois Marie Baily, 4 natural daughters, Ana (Big Bratt) Nicks, Gloria (Squeaker) Wilson, Andrea (Toto) Stahr and Stacy (Scoob) Stone, Marie’s daughter Angela Lowman and Marie’s son Wesley Lowman; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nephews nieces and cousins. He entered the US Army in 1959 and served 27 years. He was a part of the 2nd Armored Division in Vietnam earned two Bronze Star Medals, and many other medals and awards. He later served 9 years as an Infirmary Officer for the Bell County Sheriff’s Department and held many other positions in security. His favorite job in the world was serving Jesus. He was baptized in 1978 in the Panama Canal. He moved to Killeen in 1980. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist for 10 years, First Baptist Trimmier for 24 years and Triple 7 Baptist Fellowship for approximately one year. He served under Pastors Billy Menn, Weldon Hicks and Herb Taylor and felt that he couldn’t have served with anyone else better than these three wonderful men. He is now home with the Lord. His legacy is his love for his family. His creed is love God, love family, love life. The family will receive visitors from 5-7pm Thursday April 11, 2019 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
