A memorial service for Lurlene Christelle Blakley LaGrone, 88, a long-time resident of Killeen, will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen with Rev. Weldon Hicks officiating. Mrs. LaGrone was a housewife and a real estate agent in the Killeen area.
Mrs. LaGrone passed away on March 8th at a Temple nursing home. She was born on September 5, 1926 to Ardy and Bessie Lee Blakley and she grew up in Rosebud, Texas. She and William Andrew (Andy) LaGrone ,Jr. were married May 18, 1943, and they celebrated 70 years of marriage prior to his passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, both of her parents, and a sister, Wanda Fischer of Rosebud.
Survivors include daughter Ann Barr and her husband, T.H. Barr; daughter Cassie (Chris) Scott and her long-time companion, Les Burton; 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as a brother and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home with services to follow immediately after at 2:00.
