Dr. Martha Lucinda Kennerson

Martha was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on January 31, 1957 to the late Mackenzie and Cora Jordan Bolden and was the second of three children.

She received her doctorate in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from the School of Minnesota. She received her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from University of Central Texas and her Bachelor’s in Social work from American Technological University.

She was very active as a chaplain and had her own ministry known as S.T.A.R. (Sanctified, Tried, And Righteous) Ministries. While during that time she worked as a social worker for many years assisting many people who couldn't help themselves. She was also active as a leader with Girl Scouts Organization of America and with the Red Cross for many years.

Dr. Kennerson was preceded in death by her father, Mackenzie Bolden and her mother, Cora Jordan Bolden.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Patrick Kennerson and her daughter, Patryce Kennerson, both of Killeen, her sisters Marva Richmond and Ruth Bolden both from Lake Charles, Louisiana along with a host of nieces and nephews and many close friends who will forever cherish sweet memories of her.

A celebration of life for Dr. Kennerson will be held at 11 am Friday, November 15, 2024 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 South Fort Hood Road, Killeen, Texas 76542-1654.
