

No services are scheduled for Marva L. "Marti" Woodward, 69, of Harker Heights. Mrs. Woodward died Nov. 1, 2010, in a Temple hospital. She was born June 20, 1941, in Hoxie, Arkansas, to Marvin and Jessie Lee (Hendrix) Hartwell.
Mrs. Woodward married Ronald L. "Woodie" Woodward in 1959 in Hernando, Miss., and they lived in the area since 1986. She became a member of the Fort Hood Officers Wives Club in 1986; the Killeen Civic Art Guild in 1988; a member of the Retired Officers Wives Club in 1990; a member of the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce in 1995; and was also a member of the Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce.
Among her many achievements and awards, Mrs. Woodward served as president of the ROWC from 1992-94; president of the Fort Hood Officers Wives Club from 1989-90; representative of ROWC on the Darnall Health Care Committee and was a certified timekeeper for USA Boxing.
As a gifted stained-glass artist, Mrs. Woodward took second place for Cockatoo and third place for Hummingbird and Flower in 1986, and won second place for Bluebonnet Panel with the Killeen Civic Arts and Crafts Contests in 1988. In 1990, she received a copyright from the Library of Congress for Hummingbird by Marti. In 1994, in the Designer-Craftsman Contest, Mrs. Woodward won first place for Bluebonnet Panel and honorable mention for Five Tulips with Fort Hood Level; second place for Five Tulips with Forscom Level; and honorable mention for Five Tulips with the Department of the Army Level. In 1996, in the Designer-Craftsman Contest, she won first place for Hummingbirds in the Vineyard and second place for Medical Service Corps Caduceus with Fort Hood Level; first place for Hummingbirds in the Vineyard and second place for Medical Service Corps Caduceus with Forscom Level; however, she was most proud of receiving first place for Hummingbirds in the Vineyard and second place for Medical Service Corps Caduceus with the Department of the Army Level. In 1997, she took third place for Five Tulips with the Killeen Civic Art Guild Spring Show.
Mrs. Woodward was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her husband of more than 51 years, Ronald "Woodie" Woodward of Harker Heights; daughter and son-in-law, Vivicia "Vicki" and Rick McClure of New Braunfels; a granddaughter, Aleigha Lynn McClure of New Braunfels; her mother and brother, Jessie Lee and James Hartwell, both of Collierville, Tenn.; and Schnitzel and Seigi.
