Nora G. Hines

Funeral services for Nora G. Hines, 87, of Killeen, will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2011 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. A time of visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery in Killeen.

Mrs. Hines passed away Thursday afternoon in a Copperas Cove Nursing Home.

Nora was born January 3, 1924 in Gatesville, Texas to Adolph and Emma (Shaub) Gebert.

She graduated from Gatesville High School in 1941. In April 1957 she married Walter Andrew Hines in the Bethel Heights Church near Gatesville. She retired in January of 1984 after many years of work for Civil Service at Ft. Hood in the finance department.

Nora was preceded in death by her husband on March 22, 1984 and by an infant sister; a sister, Senada “Sis”; and a brother, Adolph “Sonny” August Gebert Jr. and her parents.

She is survived by a son and his wife, Leslie and Donna Hines of Killeen; a daughter, Sharon and her husband, Dan Ross of Bossier City, LA; a step-daughter, Faith Turner of Belton; a sister, Lillie Schoenewolf of Concord, CA; and three grandchildren, Jared Hines of Killeen, Andrew Ortiz of San Antonio and Zachary Ortiz of Olive Branch, Mississippi.
