

Rodney moved to Texas to attend the University of North Texas, where he met and married the love of his life, Susan. Their marriage was built on devotion, partnership, and enduring love.
Following college, Rodney proudly served his country in the United States Army. During his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal in recognition of his dedication and honorable service.
After completing his military service, Rodney began a long and meaningful career as a correctional officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He served faithfully until his retirement.
In retirement, Rodney found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He spent his days tending to his garden, feeding and watching wild birds, and enjoying the quiet beauty of nature.
Rodney was preceded in death by his two sons, Brian David McLinn and William John McLinn.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan McLinn; his brother, Robin McLinn; and his sister, Edith Shore.
A visitation will be held on February 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.
A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the same location. A graveside service with military honors will take place afterward at Killeen City Cemetery.
