

He is preceded in death by father Bartolome Ruiz Lampa; Mother Esperanza Romua Lampa; sister Simfrosa (Rose) Romua Lampa; brother Leonardo (Juanito) Romua Lampa; son Romel Ladines Lampa and one granddaughter Nicole Ann Lampa
John or Jun, as he was affectionally called, was born and raised in Binalonan, Pangasinan a province of the Philippines on September 20, 1931. There he went to grade school all the way to college. Along the years, he was united with his love, Melida Ladines and married June 18, 1953 and to that union they had 6 children (5 sons and 1 daughter). At the University of the East, October 1956, he received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Years to come he and his wife were petitioned by his sister to come to the United States by 1972 and they lived in Los Angeles, Calif. A few years later, he and his family then moved and made Kansas City, Missouri they’re permanent resident. He worked as a machine operator for Knit Rite, Inc for more than 30+ years until he retired in 1999. He was a great provider working 12hr shifts 5 days a week. He was a part of the Kansas City Filipino Association. He was a long-time member of Swope Park United Methodist Church in Kansas City, Mo where he served as a member of the United Methodist Men. In his leisure time, he spent with family, did some cross country traveling through the Dakota’s, Utah, Colorado, Nevada and then to California to visit his sisters often. He was kind and loving to those that knew him. He had a great sense of humor and joked around a lot. Dad you will be missed.
John (or Jun) is survived by his wife, Melida Lampa along with 5 children: William Lampa (Nida) of Kansas City, Mo, James Lampa (Nelia) of Copperas Cove, Tx, Fred Lampa (Luciana) of Killeen, Tx, Neil Lampa (Socorro) of Chula Vista, Ca and Filipina Page (Derek) of Copperas Cove, Tx.
Also survived by his Grandchildren – Jaimee Martinez (Mark), Mylanie Ventanilla (Ryan), Mindy Manix (Phillip), Christina, Michael Lampa (Jocelyn), Cindy Villaruz (Jason), Nicholas Lampa (Millicent) Stephen, Richard, Zachary, Joseph, Ciarra and Jamal.
He also has 6 Great-Grandchildren – Salem, Aubrielle, Liam, Collin, Charlotte and RaeLynn.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU to the Kindred Hospice in Temple, Tx for their care and medical attention they gave to our father during his time of need, especially to his CNA, Martha; and his RN Denise, they came weekly and made sure he was taken care and had everything he needed.
