Funeral services for Sherry Lillian Lutz, 60, of Killeen, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Cecil Bowles will officiate with burial to follow in the Live Oak Cemetery in Youngsport.
Mrs. Lutz passed away Tuesday, Sept 6, 2011 at a Temple nursing home after a courageous battle with gastric cancer.
Born May 11, 1951 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Virgil and Clara Grasham, she attended school in Killeen; Fowler elementary and Nolan middle school and graduated from Killeen High in 1969. Sherry was employed by HEB for almost 30 years.
She married A. Wayne Lutz in December of 1997. He gave her the life she loved, living in the country; taking care of her animals among the peace and quiet. She loved reading books and occasionally going to Sami Shows; and gambling with Joan Davila, her true best friend, and with her husband, Wayne, going to Louisiana.
Sherry was a person who gave to everyone and asked nothing in return. She loved her grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Anthony (Tony) Grasham.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Wayne; son, Bobby Persick and wife Heather, step daughters Rhonda Burell, and husband Tommy; Nichole Hurt and husband Jason and her grandchildren, Darrah, Charlie, Landon, Nathaniel, Neil, Toni, and Peyton; sisters, Shirley Grasham, Connie Cryer, and husband Dennis, two brothers, Robert and Donald Grasham and numerous nieces and nephews.
