

Shirley Mae Wilson, 75, passed away peacefully in the arms of Our Lord and Savior on December 9, 2016 at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen, Texas after a sudden illness. Shirley was born on November 2, 1941 to the late Leroy and Rebecca Scales in Danville, Virginia. She graduated in 1957 from Langston High School. She united in Holy matrimony to Roosevelt Wilson Sr. in September of 1957 and was blessed with three children. She and her family lived abroad for over 13 years and was fortunate enough to meet numerous people who remained longtime friends. Shirley worked as a child care provided for over 30 years and was blessed to maintain contact with many of the young adults she cared for as children. She was a member of Anderson Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she served on the Usher Board, Trustee Board and the Hospitality Ministry for the church since 1985. Shirley was proceeded in death by her husband Roosevelt Wilson.; parents Leroy and Rebecca Scales; two brothers Leroy and Johnny Scales and one sister Pauline Scales all of Danville, Virginia. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her surviving sons Roosevelt Jr. and wife Joyce Wilson, Johnny Ray and wife Diana Wilson and daughter Jewel Wilson all of Killeen, a sister Bernice Scales of Killeen and a brother Jerome and wife Kim Scales of Danville, Virginia. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Johnny Wilson of Garland, TX, Latonya Jones and Iaisha Wilson both of Killeen, two great-grandsons, Andre Jones and Marquise Jones of Killeen, special extended family members Marcia Lynn Sinegal and Sharon Joulevette of Killen and Barabra Pope of Harker Heights along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Services for Shirley will be held Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11:00am at Anderson Chapel AME with burial to follow at Killeen Memorial Park; a visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen from 6-8pm.
