

(Retired CSM)Timothy Paul Livengood, 55, passed away February 3, 2015 in Kandahar, Afghanistan from a heart attack. He was born December 28, 1959, at Fort Knox, KY. He began his distinguished career in the United States Army in 1983 and was promoted quickly through the ranks to attain the highest bestowed upon an enlisted Soldier, Command Sergeant Major. He served for 26 years, deploying to both Iraq and Afghanistan a total of five times. Some of his military schooling includes: all Non Commissioned Officer Education Courses to include the United States Army Sergeant Major Academy, class 53; Jumpmaster School, Master Fitness Trainers Course, and Battle Staff NCO Course. A few of his many awards and decorations include: the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal second award, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal fifth award and the Army Commendation Medal second award. He has also been awarded Combat Action Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, British Parachutist Badge and the Venezuelan Parachutist Badge and the Gold Recruiter Badge with two sapphires. He is the recipient of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Award.
Upon his retirement, he returned to Afghanistan to continue supporting Army and Soldiers he loved as a Regional Human Resources Manager for AC First.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Livengood; his sons, Paul Livengood II and Devin Livengood, their mother, Carol Livengood; his stepson, Ernie Safady; his stepdaughters Nicole and Kendra Safady; his grandsons, Braxtyn and Bradlee; his sister Karen Howland, and two nephews, Jack and Nick Howland. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Livengood and his mother Pat Decker.
The viewing will be held Wednesday, February 11, from 6-8 pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Killeen at 1 pm Thursday, February 12. Graveside service will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
