William “Billy Goat” Martin Quick, age 47, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, at his parents’ home in Killeen, Texas, surrounded by family and love.
Billy was born on November 12, 1977, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Bill and Cindy Quick. He grew up with his brothers Josh and Mike, building a life full of laughter, music, and deep connections that would shape his path forward.
He studied graphic design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh but found his true craft in custom woodworking—a trade that allowed him to work with his hands and create things of lasting beauty. Billy also held dear his time working at Yellowstone National Park and for The Fox radio station, two roles that gave him joy and stories he loved to share.
Billy’s greatest joy and purpose in life came through his family. He was a devoted and passionate husband to Lisa Lemmons Quick, his wife of 13 years, and a deeply loving father to Karis, Tristan, Quinndylan, Harvey, and Devin. His children were his heart—he raised them with intention, strength, and so much love, always encouraging them to be brave and to find beauty in everyday moments.
Known affectionately as “Billy Goat,” he had a magnetic personality that drew people in. He was charismatic, kind, and accepting to all. He had a boundless curiosity—always learning, especially about history—and found his greatest joy in playing and listening to music with his closest friends.
Billy leaves behind a wide circle of family who cherished him, including his parents Bill and Cindy Quick, his brothers Josh and Mike Quick, his nieces and nephews Christian, Hunter, Mason, Trenton, Alvah, and Aiden, and many beloved friends. He is preceded in death by his Uncle Chris Quick, and grandparents Robert Quick, and Virginia and Melvin Carmikle.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas. Billy will be cremated, and his family plans to honor his memory in a way that reflects the love and life he shared with them.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family’s GoFundMe to support Lisa and the children in this difficult time.
Billy lived with a big heart, a generous spirit, and a deep passion for the people he loved. He will be remembered always, and missed beyond measure.
