Carolyn was a graduate of Hinds Community College and the Mississippi University for Women, actively involved in civic activities in all of her world residences, an avid home cook and entertainer, secure in her Christianity, and thankful for all of the friends she was blessed to make and maintained; both at home and abroad. Carolyn measured her success in the patience to raise and support her husband, the success of her children, the recipe's she collected (and successful meals served to family, friends and guests), the active involvement and close relationships with friends.
Carolyn was a huge sports fan where in the absence of favorites of baseball, basketball or football would watch or listen even to cricket and rugby when pressed for a sport in far flung locals. Carolyn was also known as an avid bowler who participated on teams in leagues from Singapore to Mobile.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to MD Anderson Cancer Center in her name.
