Thinking of you today, Colby. We miss you so much and can't wait to see you again! Still praying for peace & healing for Casey, Monte, and all family/friends. This loss has been tremendous.

I know that's it's silly to be writing you on here, but it feels right at this time. I just want you to know that we miss you more than ever and things just aren't the same here at the office without you. We're doing our best to adjust, but you really are irreplaceable. I think about you every day and would do anything to have you back. I want you to know that Casey is going to church with Misty and me this Easter Sunday. I sure wish you could come with us. We'll talk about how much you're missed, probably cry some and bring up nice memories. Casey misses you so much! I know that you're really loving your new home up there. It sucks down here without you, but know that we'll be okay in time. We love you so much and can't wait to see you again. Next time will be forever. Take care my friend.

PART 3 - Precious friend, you rest now.  I know you were so tired the last few weeks here on earth. But you are now whole, completely healed from the ugly cancer that ravaged your body. I world of dune anything to take that from you. You are now spending eternity with Jesus. And even though you sometimes sang off key, or so I heard during your service, (giggle giggle), you are singing praises and dancing, and rejoicing at the feet of Jesus! That must be so wonderful! One day, we will all be reunited, and what a glorious day that will be. Until then, I will always remember your incredible smile.  I will try my best to live a life that will hopefully touch others the way that you did.  I will be better at sharing the love of Jesus with those around me. And I will be a better me because of knowing YOU!  I love you, sweet girl! 

(Sorry for the long memory, but how does one sum up Colby in just 2000 characters?)

PART 2 - needs more people like that.  I wish there was a rewind button for the last 6 months. I would hit rewind, then press pause for just a little while... just to have you back here with us. Our short time as friends was just not enough. One of the greatest things that you taught me was to always let people know that they were loved... not just by me, but most importantly, by our Jesus. You, my dear, were like Jesus in the flesh to those around you.  You were His hands and feet when they needed Him the most. I know you were that to me on several occasions. I can only imagine the homecoming celebration that happened in Heaven on February 20th! I bet at the top of the stairs, just before you stood at the gates of heaven, there was a beautiful rainbow heart, surrounded by the fluffiest of PINK clouds. Of course, they would be PINK. It was there just to welcome you home!  I can see you running into the arms of our Heavenly Father! I can almost feel the warmth of the embrace He gave you.  And I KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt, that His first words to you were, WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL CHILD, WELL DONE!! I could go on and on about the lasting impact you had on so many, but you already know that. When you sat down next to Jesus and He was praising you for all you did to share His love and He played the video of your life, you saw,  right then, the many life's you impacted. And some of those, you probably had no idea that you touched so deeply until you saw that video play. Precious friend, you rest now. (con't)

My sweet friend Colby, I know this is silly writing you, knowing you will never read this or be able to write back to me. But it's all I've got and I just had some things I wanted to say to you. First of all, I just finished watching your memorial service. I know you're so proud of Casey and all that he did to make it beautiful and to truly honor who you are. I loved seeing all the photos of you and your friends.  One of my favorite parts of the service was hearing how much you looked forward to meeting Lisa Harper. I remember how excited you were. And I loved that they included the photo of you with her and Shalyn. I remember taking that photo. All three of you looked so beautiful. And to see the smiles on yours and Shalyn's faces in the photos from that weekend...sigh... such a sweet friendship. You would have been so proud of her as she boldly walked onto that stage today and shared thoughts of you. The Chosen Conference weekend is one that I will hold close to me for the rest of my life, because it brought you into my world. I never would have guessed that our friendship would have bloomed into what it was in such a short period of time. You blessed me in so many ways.  I can only hope that I brought even half as much to our friendship as you did. I also wanted to say thank you... thank you for just being you! You may not have known it, but you have made me a better person just by knowing YOU!  Your genuine kindness was one of the most beautiful things about you. You are the reason that SO MANY people felt included, welcomed, valued,  listened to, supported, and most of all LOVED!  I don't think you even realized just how wonderful you were! You just walked around making the world a better place. You were so brave and strong. You never gave up, and you always tried your best!  You were kind and smart, you believed in yourself,  you showed love to so many of us! You truly were a unique person.  You didn't take life for granted, and this world needs (con't) -

Oh how I will miss you sweet Colby. You brought so much fun, love, life, and happiness to Boaz Export but more than that you became a true member of our family. Your absence is felt every day in our little office. I will miss all our daily lunches together, discussions about the latest news, the best books to read, the latest & best  shows to binge watch, and your outlook and opinion of Dan’s, almost daily, trivia or “what do y’all think about this” discussions. I’ll forever save our “Nutty Monkey’s” group texts and it’s heartbreaking now not to see your contribution to the discussion or your instant reply as you always had a comment, an LOL, 👍, ❤️, or a 😊. So many memories come flooding back as I sit here writing. I could fill this entire page. God took you home and away from us too soon but I will always give praise and thanks to Him for sending your beautiful soul into my life. As a believer I know that this is not goodbye but only I’ll see you later. I love you so very much!

I will always remember our river trips. The late night golf cart rides, walking down to the river to gaze out at the stars and endless fun and laughter.

You never missed a birthday party, a baby shower, or a wedding celebration. You always showed your love and support for all your friends. 🩷

Colby, Shalyn, and Kelsey attending Wednesday night life group at Grace Church. Learning about the unwavering love of God made for an encouraging night and these smiles will be etched in my heart forever. Love you, girls!

I remember the first time I met Colby. It was a bittersweet moment. My sister, Misty, had invited her to join us at a show at the Music Box Theater. When she introduced herself as Colby Jacks, I couldn't help but giggle and asked, "Like the cheese?" She laughed and confirmed it. In that moment, I couldn't help but think that someone with a name like that must be unique and special. And Colby truly was. I would often see her when I visited my mom or my sisters, Misty and my chosen sister Traci, at Boaz Export. Her laughter, oh, her laughter was one of a kind - so cool and distinct. But what I admired most about her was her strength and her ability to speak her mind. She was a strong, independent woman, and I couldn't help but wish if I had a daughter she would possess those same qualities. I don't know how she did it, but Colby faced life's challenges with such grace and resilience. The outpouring of love I've seen on Facebook is a testament to how many lives she touched in her short time with us. She held a very special place in my sister Misty's heart, and her absence has left a void that cannot be filled. Colby was truly an old soul, wise beyond her years. But despite the sadness, there is some comfort in knowing that her energy has been released into the world, and she will forever be remembered as young and beautiful, someone who left an indelible mark on the lives of so many. Rest in power, Colby, and may your spirit continue to shine brightly.

Grace Church Girl's Night Out 2023 ❤️

It was an honor to take a few minutes and pray over you.  When we finished praying, all three of us were in tears, and then you asked if you could give me a hug. Even though I was feeling overwhelmed by my anxieties from first, standing in the middle of a lobby crowded with people and secondly, from praying aloud with you, I said of course. I'm so glad that I did! I think that was one of the longest lasting hugs I've ever had and I KNOW it's one that I'll cherish for a lifetime! Oh what I'd do for another Colby hug!

You and Shalyn made me feel so valued at the Chosen conference and we had just met! The two of you had such a sweet connection. I know that she is going to miss you so much!

How does one say goodbye to such a beautiful soul? I remember when you sent me this photo. You were upset because the chemo you were taking had already started to cause your hair to thin out. But I assured you that it still looked amazing! And that you would be beautiful even without your hair, because your beauty shined so bright from the inside out. We giggled and talked about the crazy fun you could have with different wigs... but then in your sweet southern voice you said "Mrs. Terry, I hate wearing those dang things! All they do is make me itch and get so hot! Just give me a cute beenie and I'll be just fine "  And I'm sure you would have been!

Who would of thought that asking you and Shalyn to take of photo for me would have started such a special friendship. I knew that weekend that we would become close friends. Both having dealt with cancer, we just connected. We understood one another on a different level than most friendships. We felt each others pain. Oh how I prayed that I could take that pain from you. You were so strong and courage in your fight.  Thank you for letting me be there for you.  For letting me, in the best way that I could, try and keep you encouraged.  Thank you for the near daily texts or calls. You blessed me in so many ways. I miss you so much already!

I’ll love you forever, Little Sister. My heart is broken. There’s so much that I could say but the words are hard to produce. Just know that you made a difference in my life and so many others. I can’t wait to see you again. ❤️
