Cory Lewis Risley, of Columbus, Ohio, died September 7, 2025. Cory was the son to Gail and David Risley; brother to Eric Risley. He moved from Ohio to Houston approximately ten years ago, in 2015, where he became beloved by many. Cory most recently worked at a Pappasitos Cantina, as a kitchen manager, where he suddenly passed away due to a complication with his heart.
Cory attended Ohio State University in his earlier life, which fueled his love for college football. He was a dear friend and a well-loved manager at his job. His hobbies included 3D printing, painting figures and spending time with friends while either playing video games or table-top games. He attended a DnD group weekly, he enjoyed listening to music, and baking treats for his friends and family. His skills at baking were unmatched and he enjoyed the closeness that his treats brought to those he got the opportunity to share them with.
Years after he moved to Houston, in 2021, he met his lifelong partner and spouse, Nataly Guadalupe, with whom he had a beautiful daughter with. He leaves behind his wife, along with their daughter Emilia, who until the day he died, were the center of his entire world. He never went a day without expressing his gratitude to his wife and his love for his daughter to anyone who would listen.
He left this world loved by anyone who met him and left his mark on the lives of many who had the privilege of being able to experience a closeness to him; whether it was seeing him become an amazing father, a wonderful husband or becoming a reliable friend and hard worker.
