A woman of Faith and Love is how I will always remember Mrs. Harper. May God grant each of you peace as you adjust to her loss.

As the matriarch of such a blessed Christian family, we know God has welcomed her home with such rejoicing. Our prayers are with the family now as they adjust to missing her here.

Brenda I was so sorry to hear about your mom. I have a lot of memories of hanging out at your house when we were growing up. Your mom was always so kind. I lost my mom almost 2 years ago and think about her all the time. I thank God for letting me have her for so long. You will be blessed with all those memories as well. I will be thinking about you and your family in the days to come. I won't be able to make it to the funeral, but know that I will be praying for you and your family on that day. God bless you. What a lucky girl I am to have had her for my Mamaw. What a phenomenal example if the kind of woman I hope to be---missing her :(

There was a time, not so long ago, when I'd been quite unlovable.  I was still living at home with my parents, having a very rough time in life & was in pretty low place.  Mamaw drove to our house, climbed all those stairs to my room, hugged me, cried with me, offered me tissues, assured me that her son (my daddy) would never abandon me because she'd raised him better than that & that together, we would all get through it.  We both laughed a little, cried a lot & I think she even cursed a little & said a few things that made even me blush.  She helped me so much that day.  It was exactly what I needed.  It was that day that I knew just exactly why I'd been blessed with such a wonderful father.  He'd had such a loving, terrific mom.  Well, 14 or so years later, things really did work out for the best & out of that whole mess, that day on the sofa with my Mamaw is what I remember most.  She helped me to like myself & to appreciate what what I had in my amazing, compassionate father.  In turn, I looked for those same qualities in my husband.  My Mamaw's gifts are present in my life every day & she will forever be in my heart.  I love her more than there are stars in the sky.

What a blessing to have had such a wonderful mother who truly lived for her family. She worked outside the home at times, yet was truly a "home-maker". She was selfless, thoughtful, smart, ambitious, & hard working. I am more thankful than words can say. I miss her already!

Maamaw was one of my favorite people in the whole world.  She was different than a "Grandma" as some might speak of.  She was "Grand" "Mother" and all that implies.  She was well loved and loved well.  You could depend on her, trust her, tell her secrets, ask her for counsel, sing with her, cook with her, read the newspaper with her... over the phone even(!) and talk with her for hours.  She was loyal and stable, communicative yet quiet, very smart yet always learning more, willing to encourage you all the while loving you enough to tell you the truth, even if it was hard to hear.  She was faithful to Paapaw for 67+ years - but really, it was a lifetime love, full of belief in each other, family, friends and a faithful God. 

I am forever changed by my Maamaw.  Like water that for years streams over the rocks and makes them smooth, her consistent love and wisdom has streamed over me and smoothed out many rough patches in my short days here.  Her spirit and character has etched out places in my heart that cannot be filled by anyone else.  She has shared wisdom that has helped me to chart difficult courses in my own life's journey.  I will miss her dearly... more dearly than almost anyone I can imagine... but I know that I will see her again.  For almost 40 years, my heavenly Father shared a precious daughter of his with me.  He allowed her to be my Maamaw and me to be her oldest granddaughter.  It is one of the most precious blessings the Lord could have given me in my life.

He was just ready to have her Home again.  I totally understand why.  We selfishly wish she was back "home" with us again, too.   

I am grateful for the Lord's faithfulness in bringing her Home after a short time here on earth and I look so forward to hearing her sing again, as she so often did, in that deep alto voice... Only then, It won't be for Sweet Adelines anymore....  

...It will be for our sweet Jesus.

I love you so very much, Maamaw and I miss you ...
