

Elinor Huliganga Sharon, 63, of Humble, TX, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2013. She was born to the late Segismundo and Remedios Huliganga, Feb. 3, 1950, in the Philippine Islands. Elinor received a BS in Pre-Med in 1971, an M.D. from the University of the East in 1976, and a BS in Nursing from Wichita State University in 1992.
Elinor was a nurse for Rehab, NICU, Telemetry, and ICU units, receiving the most letters from patients expressing their sincere gratitude for her compassion and care. She was also a Diabetes Researcher and Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Baylor College of Medicine.
Elinor was an active member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, serving as a Eucharistic minister. She made a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France and Fatima, Portugal. She loved to give of herself, her time, her knowledge, her roof, her belongings, and her financial resources, to family, friends, strangers, and numerous organizations and charities, such as the Missionary Association of Mary Immaculate, the Capuchin Franciscan Friars, the Rosary Shrine of St. Jude, and the Association of Marian Helpers, just to name a few. She also sent boxes to the Philippine Islands with food and clothes for the poor.
Elinor is survived by her son, Richard Huliganga Sharon and his wife Amy; grandchildren, Raziel Wolfgang Sharon and Aliyah Lauryn Sharon; siblings, Joy Fabe, Glayla Diega, Rowena Aquino, and Eddie Huliganga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Sharon; brother, Ernie Huliganga.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church, 2308 3rd Street, Huffman, TX 77336. Interment will be held in Rosewood Cemetery, Humble, Texas. A reception will follow in the Reception Room of Kingwood Funeral Home.
