

Emma Trevino Wilkie, 82, of Kingwood, Texas, passed on into eternal glory on Saturday, January 19, 2013. She was born in Edinburg, Texas to Alberto G. and Guadalupe Trevino on April 27, 1930. Emma was a focused and courageous woman, graduating with honors from Texas Women’s University. She received a Master of Education from The University of Texas. Her first teaching job was overseas in Venezuela. There she met her future husband, David Blaine Wilkie, Jr. With David’s job in petroleum engineering, they traveled worldwide to Argentina, Iran, Egypt and Norway. They raised five children: Allisen, David, Martha, Mary, and Diane. Emma was a devoted wife and mother, always teaching her children the important principles of life. Her family is forever grateful to her for lovingly supporting their dreams and ambitions.
Emma is survived by her children: Allisen Roberts, David Wilkie, Martha Wilkie, Mary Whitehead, and Diane Wilkie ten Wolde and her seven grandchildren: Peter Roberts, Lauren Roberts, Caitlin Roberts, Emma Whitehead, Caroline Whitehead, Blaine ten Wolde, and Keel ten Wolde. Emma was able to meet her first great grandchild, Ryker David Roberts, shortly before her passing.
A visitation is planned for Tuesday, January, 22, 2013 at Kingwood Funeral Home between 6-8 pm. A celebration of her life is scheduled for 11 am, Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Kingwood Funeral Home. Interment will be at Rosewood Cemetery in Humble.
