With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and brother, James Knight, who went home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 61 years old.
Born on August 26, 1963, in Houston, Texas, James was a faithful servant of God, a devoted husband, and a loving father. He married his soulmate, Carol, on April 2, 1997, and together they created a home filled with love, faith, and joy. His children, Cameron, Caitlin, and Kevin, were the light of his life, and he cherished each moment with them. He was also excited to become Pawpaw this year to a sweet baby girl and boy.
Throughout his battle with cancer, James exemplified strength, grace, and a deep trust in God's plan. Though he faced immense challenges, his faith never wavered, and he found comfort in knowing that God was by his side every step of the way. He was a living example of Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
In addition to being a loving family man, James had a deep passion for travel, his dogs (Corby and Emma), and spending time with loved ones. He was known for his generosity, humor, kindness, and quick wit with movie quotes. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
James is survived by his wife, Carol Knight, sons, Cameron McGary and Kevin Knight and wife, Jenna daughter, Caitlin Hoehner and husband, Colton, mother, Barbara Knight, mother and father-in-law, Linda and CW Ferrell, sisters, Diana Sorsby, Kathy Gardner and husband, Bobby, Carol Goldman and fiancé Dann, and brother, Randy Clark, and numerous other family members. | He was preceded in death by his father, James Willis Knight, brother-in-law, Kirk Goldman, and niece, Kelly Reinhart.
A celebration will be held on February 13th at Kingwood Funeral Home, where we will give thanks to God for the gift of James' life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to esophageal cancer research in his memory.
We take comfort in the words of Psalm 34:18: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Although our hearts are heavy with grief, we trust that James is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior, experiencing eternal peace and joy.
