Jim is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Genevieve Poje. He is survived by his loving wife, Edith, of 35 years; daughter Erin, husband Daniel Oefner; son Michael Poje; granddaughter, Madeline Oefner; brother Dennis Poje, wife Lynn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio where he was a member of the St. Philomena Scout troop 368 and attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was a member of the Order of the Arrow and served as Scout master to the youth of his area.
Jim received a BS in Chemical Engineering and Graduate studies in Advanced Controls at Case Institute of Technology. He also attended the Advanced Program for Directors at Harvard University. Jim was an active member of the AICHE engineering society where he was an invitee member of the EPC PCS sub-committee. He worked for various companies throughout his career most notably, BF Goodrich Chemical Company, Process Computers, Inc., Setpoint, Inc., Honeywell, Inc. and Amerapex. He ended his career as a consultant in the petro-chemical field.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 6pm until 8pm at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Hwy. 59 N. Kingwood, TX. 77339. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 10:30 am at Holy Comforter Lutheran Church, 1901 Woodland Hills Dr. Kingwood, TX. 77339 with interment to follow at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S. The Woodlands, TX. 77384.
