Mrs. Janice E. Maupin

Janice Elizabeth Maupin, 63, passed away March 17, 2017 at Kingwood Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born May 01, 1953 in Fairbury, NE to Bohman & Mary Kunc. She attended Mahaska & North Central schools graduating in 1971. She then enrolled in Cloud County Community College and Asbury Nursing School. She was a Registered Nurse at Stormont Vail Hospital from 1974 until retiring March 1, 2011. In her 37 years of service, she worked in adult care and then moved on to NICU. Her favorite job was working with "babies".

Janice and Steve Maupin were united in marriage August 16, 1975. They were blessed with a daughter, JaNa, born May 24, 1982.

After their retirements, Steve & Janice moved to Humble, TX in January 2012 to be closer to JaNa in Galveston.

Janice is survived by her parents Bohman & Mary Kunc, Salina, KS; husband Steve Maupin, Humble, TX; daughter JaNa Maupin, Galveston, TX, and a brother Erlyn Kunc of Wichita, KS. She leaves behind many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Eaglecrest Retirement Community; 1501 Magnolia; Salina, KS on Saturday March 25th at 1:30 p.m.
