Jeffery Irvin Beason

Jeff Beason was born on October 13, 1948 in Lubbock, Texas and was the second of three sons born to Si and Mildred Beason. The family moved to Carlsbad, NM in 1953. Jeff graduated from Carlsbad Senior High School in 1966 and earned a B.B.A. in Accounting in 1970 from Texas Tech University. He worked for various public accounting firms and later for corporations in the oil and gas industry. Jeff was a consummate employee known for his integrity and loyalty. He was loved and respected by all with whom he worked.

Jeff was confirmed in the Methodist Church in the sixth grade and continued to learn and grow in his faith throughout his life. The Walk to Emmaus, a spiritual retreat, had a profound influence on his life and relationship with Christ and with others.

Jeff’s greatest love was always for his family. He married his junior high sweetheart, Elaine Earnest, in 1969 after having dated for seven years. They were blessed with a son, Sam, in 1970 and a daughter, Melissa, in 1974. He took great joy in his grandchildren Dylan Beason, and Cole, Jett, and Lyla Smith and was always proud of them and their achievements. He loved his daughter-in-law, Angela, like a daughter, and son-in-law, Bryan Smith, like a son.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Si and Mildred Beason and his brother, Roger Beason, all of Carlsbad, NM. He is survived by his wife, Elaine, son Sam and daughter-in-law, Angela, daughter Melissa Beason Smith, son-in-law Bryan Smith, brother Tim Beason, grandchildren, in-laws, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rest in peace Jeff knowing you were loved by many.

A memorial service for Jeffery will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay Street, Houston, TX 77024. Following the memorial service will be a reception at 5:00 PM at Kingwood Country Club, 1700 Lake Kingwood Trail, Kingwood, TX.
